Who are we?

Who are we?

ADC Dance & Fitness previous known as ‘Aimie’s Dance Company was established in 2014. We are a small independent school with our very own dance studio located in between Rayne and Great Notley. We offer a variety of classes throughout the week including parent & toddler and adult dance & fitness. We believe that dance should be accessible and inclusive for everyone which is why we have affordable class fees and a wide array of classes so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Here at ADC we believe that confidence is key, let’s start by building some confidence and self belief and the rest will fall into place.

We are a registered school with exam boards IDT and NPAA, we offer students the opportunity to take a variety of graded and performance based exams throughout the year as well as offering our students the chance to perform in shows and local events such as ‘Festival in the Garden’, Braintree Carnival, And a whole selection of village and school fetes.

Miss Aimie

Miss Aimie

I am the DBO (Dance Business Owner) and teacher for everything here at ADC. Having my very own school had always been a dream and a goal for me so back in 2014 I was newly qualified and decided to start up my own classes, I had just 7 children and 2 classes per week. We are now celebrating our 10th year and have over 230 students attending weekly classes. We are excited to be holding our whole school show to celebrate 10 years at The Mercury Theatre in June 2024. My aim was to bring all of my experiences together and to then offer those fantastic opportunities to my own students.

I started dancing at the age of 2 and took my first dance exam just after I turned 3, I also attended Stage Coach for 12 years and was part of the advanced dance troupe Formation. I have performed parts in various professional shows including performing at The Royal Opera House London, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Saddlers Wells, Queens Golden Jubilee, and the Ipswich Regent.

Other experiences include placing at various competitions and festivals, receiving highest overall score for my Ballet solo, dancing at Pineapple Studios London, dancing with Wayne Sleep and attending scholarship days in Birmingham which were invite only based on exam marks.

“Thanks to Dance . I’ve stopped saying I can’t do that and started saying I will be able to do that, just give me time to practise“

In our musical theatre and street dance class we look at a new routine each half term. Both styles are high in energy and performance and we offer performance based exams for both styles and shows.

Our acro classes are a mix of floor based gymnastics and dance which also incorporates group lifts and balances. The children work towards skill class assessments, graded and performance based exams plus shows and local events. We also offer weekly aerial arts including aerial hoop & silks

The perfect introduction to dance and movement. The class includes a new theme each half term, action songs, sensory lights, colourful and musical props plus more. It encourages free movement, helps to improve balance & coordination, and promotes social interaction.

What our parents say

What our parents say

My daughter has been coming since September 2023. She absolutely loves the classes, and she can’t wait to do more. She’s only 6 but has been given so much confidence and taught new skills already. Aimie is so lovely, so bubbly, and so caring.

I cannot recommend Aimie highly enough; whether your child is looking to improve their dancing skills, build their confidence or wanting to make friends Aimie is inclusive of all children. The range of dance classes offered as well as the experiences that Aimie strives to provide for her dancers rivals that all the big dance companies but comes with a more personal touch.

Our daughter has been dancing with Aimie for over 5 years and it has been wonderful to see how much her confidence and her skills have developed. Our daughter has additional needs and Aimie has always gone above and beyond to ensure that she is happy and developing in her classes. She is made to feel welcome and accepted as part of the ADC family and has formed a strong bond with Aimie.

My daughter has been attending ADC for years now. Aimee is an absolutely fabulous teacher so kind and patient and has so much time for her. When my daughter started she had zero confidence, but since starting dancing she has come on so far. She is much more sociable. She attends 3 different classes a week and loves each one so much. I would always recommend ADC dance and fitness to anyone who is looking for dance classes.
